Email to Parents - 11/18/09

Just a few helpful reminders:

1. Keep in touch with the blog

2. I see a couple of familes doing this and it is not a bad idea - they have been adding a little bit of money at a time to their student's account. You don't have to do this, but in the long run it may be better than writing one big check in March.

3. Reminder - January 8 is called the “point of no return” – final decisions need to be made on your student's participation in the trip, otherwise after that date you are responsible to pay for your plane ticket. (This is for the adults going on the trip as well)

Keep praying!

Any questions, let me know. Thanks

Mel Mitchell

Praise Report

This testimony came in today - God is our supply!

"I thought you would be interested in knowing a situation that happen to us the other day.
After the open house on our way home (my husband) and I were talking about the mission trip for (our daughter) to go on and saying that we will do fundraisers to get as much money for her to go. That was thursday night. Low and behold, the very next day, when I went to the mailbox to get the mail, we got something surprising! Our house payment is going down by $300 starting in November! We never expected that and I do believe I know where that came from - a blessing from God. You said if we have faith, He will see us thru. We are taking that extra money and putting it all to her missions trip! It brought a tear to our eyes that night because we never give God enough praise for what He does for us everyday in our lives. Our daughter is still going to help in the fundraisers because I still believe she needs to do her part for the trip. I thought you would get a kick out of this story thanks for all you do for (our daughter) and this school. It has been a blessing to her and us to see her grow in her walk with Jesus."

Tuesday - TOMORROW - they will be sharing about the trip in MC chapel tomorrow at 11:40 after worship. Each student should be prepared to share how the trip impacted their life and what stood out to them. They can dress down with their jeans (long jeans) and missions t-shirt tomorrow.

Monday the 20th - they report back to the elementary classroom they spoke to before the trip and share with their students. IT WOULD BE GREAT TO HAVE PICTURES!

You can be proud of the kids and adults that went on the trip. We look forward to sharing with you!

One last treat!

The team is now assembled and on their way home. This morning we spent time at the ranch feeding the deer. It turns out that the couple at the ranch were very good friends with Mary and Tito Gonzales at First Assembly Spanish.

Saturday Outreach

The people in the housing project were very thankful that we would take the time to minister to them with our time, food, and sharing Christ. Many of the people there were placed there after Katrina. The kids are sharing more and more in their time together and "never want the trip to end." Our kids have been very excited about praying the sinners prayer with children!

Reaching the Children

God has blessed to work with Pastor Munoz and his wife to reach those in one of the lowest poverty areas of Corpus Christi. We had a service outside the Zavala School and in our service, our kids prayed with several children to accept Christ. We passed out flyers for an outreach we will have Sunday: dramas, puppets, clowns, free cookout, bounce houses - pray that we can win this area for Christ!

We are also proud of Alumni student, Dusty Zarick, who led portions of the service today!
